Create one straight-line service area
What does this mapping tool do?
Add an optional business name, enter one address, and choose a 0.1-to-500-mile or kilometer radius. The output is one geometric circle; it does not check customer addresses, driving distance, or service eligibility.
Inputs and generated geometry
Enter an optional business name, one business address, one radius, and miles or kilometers. The working radius is constrained to 0.1 through 500.
- The address resolves to one center point
- The business name becomes the polygon's name when provided
- A 64-step polygon approximates one circle
- The live map shows the center marker and generated bounds
Example: standard plumbing callout zone
A plumber can enter the dispatch office and 20 miles to create a visual standard-service circle, then label the surrounding page with exclusions and a contact path for edge cases.
- State the unit and center used for the circle
- Explain that the boundary is straight-line rather than road distance
- Keep pricing, scheduling, and final eligibility decisions outside the geometry
What the free output includes
The page previews one result and downloads one GeoJSON FeatureCollection containing the circle polygon.
- It does not create multiple business areas in one result
- It does not generate embed code or save a public map
- It does not check whether another address falls inside the area
Geocoding and session limits
The address is sent to the MapsMaker geocoding endpoint. Results are cached for 30 days, and anonymous cache misses are limited to 30 per minute per requester.
- Add city, region, postcode, and country when the address is ambiguous
- The latest circle stays only in browser component state
- Download the GeoJSON before refreshing if you need to keep it
Build a customer-facing map in the editor
Use the full editor when the service-area page needs multiple zones, custom polygons, rich business records, a stable share link, or an eligible website embed.
- Import or recreate the circle and add a readable legend
- Cite the source or rule behind any custom boundary
- Add a manual confirmation CTA instead of implying automated address eligibility
