Terms of Service

You must provide an accurate email address and are responsible for everything that happens under your account. You must be at least 16, or the minimum age required in your country. Tell us promptly at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you believe your account has been compromised.

You keep ownership of everything you upload — map data, marker content, images and custom styling. You grant us only the licence needed to host, process and display it in order to run the service, including serving it publicly when you choose to publish or embed a map.

You are responsible for having the right to use the content you upload. You must not:

• upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the rights to;
• upload personal data about third parties without a lawful basis — if you publish a map containing other people’s details, you are the controller of that data;
• use published maps or custom CSS to impersonate another business, phish, or mislead visitors.

You must not:

• attempt to circumvent plan limits, rate limits, quotas, or access data belonging to another customer;
• probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission;
• use the service to generate excessive load, including automated requests against published maps or our APIs beyond normal viewing;
• resell or white-label the service without a written agreement.

We may suspend an account that is causing service degradation or disproportionate third-party API cost. Where practical we will contact you first.

• Paid plans are billed in advance through Polar. Prices are shown at checkout and exclude any applicable tax unless stated.
• Plans include a monthly allowance of hosted map loads. When the allowance is exhausted, maps continue to work but fall back to a non-interactive static view until the allowance resets.
• Plans also cap the number of maps, markers and shapes. We enforce these limits on the server.
• You may cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the paid period. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
• Where a free trial is offered, it is limited to one per customer.

MapsMaker depends on Mapbox, Supabase, Vercel, Polar and (optionally) Google Sheets. Your use is also subject to their terms. If you supply your own Mapbox token (“BYO”), you are responsible for the usage and cost incurred on your own Mapbox account, and you must supply a public token — never a secret one.

We aim for high availability but do not offer an uptime guarantee on self-serve plans. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of a material removal.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings; this permanently removes your content. We may suspend or terminate an account that materially breaches these terms, normally after notice and an opportunity to fix the problem.

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue or data. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Keep your own backups of important map data. You can export it at any time from Settings.

We will give account holders at least 30 days’ notice by email before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction.
