Add one address-based pin at a time

Enter an address, optionally replace it with a shorter label, select one of six colors, and add the geocoded point to the current map.

  • An empty label falls back to the entered address
  • Available colors are blue, red, green, amber, purple, and pink
  • Each successful pin appears in the map and removable list
  • Remove acts on one selected pin

Example: a small venue shortlist

Add five venues one by one, label them with short public names, and use colors for a simple visual distinction such as Preferred, Backup, or Visit later.

  • Use a consistent meaning for every color
  • Include city and region in ambiguous address searches
  • Inspect each marker before adding the next record

CSV and GeoJSON outputs

CSV exports label, longitude, latitude, and color. GeoJSON exports Point features with name and color properties.

  • Both files represent only the pins currently in the component
  • Removing a pin excludes it from the next download
  • The page does not generate a saved URL or website embed

Geocoding and session limits

Each address is sent to the MapsMaker geocoding endpoint. Results are cached for 30 days, and anonymous cache misses are limited to 30 per minute per requester.

  • Pins are not persisted after refresh
  • Download before leaving the page
  • Do not submit sensitive addresses if the geocoding retention is unsuitable

When another workflow fits better

Use Plot Points when you want to click coordinates without addresses, Address to Map for a small pasted batch, or the full editor for saved rich records and publishing.

  • The free Pin Map does not add photos, hours, ratings, filters, or analytics
  • It does not provide clustering controls or an explicit tested scale promise
  • Full MapsMaker limits and embed availability depend on the current plan
